About the Position: Serve as the Administrative Support Assistant responsible for the clerical and administrative support to the Army Research Institute Support Unit.
This is a DEMO position at the DK-02 level; the DK-02 pay band is equivalent to the GS-5 step 1 through GS-8 step 10 grade levels.
Duties
Maintain purchase files in accordance with government purchase card instructions/guidance and internal procedures.
Prepare and/or receive purchase orders for conventional office supplies and materials.
Seek to provide briefings, presentation preparation and automation support for leadership.
Prepare internal memorandums, reports, and other requested material.
Creates new employee DCPS pay entries upon receiving payroll documents from CHRA.
Initiate and coordinate transactions for payroll system entries.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- The duties of this position require that the incumbent periodically travel, approximately 10% of the time, sometimes on short notice.
- One year trial/probationary period may be required.
- Position may or may not proceed to the GS-8 equivalent performance level depending on organization performance needs and actual job requirements. Salary control points may be implemented.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes Preparing purchase orders for leadership; assisting in the completion of personnel actions such as awards, appraisals and time-keeping; and responding to verbal and written inquiries from current and/or former employees. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (DK-2/GS-5).
