About the Position: Serves as Administrative Support Assistant responsible for providing all executive level administrative support to the North Atlantic Regional Contracting Office (NARCO), Medical Readiness Contracting Office - East. This position is located in Fort Belvoir, VA.
Duties
Provides direct support to the Medical Readiness Contracting Office - East and its staff, providing guidance to staff on policies, operations, and training issues.
Responsible for the overall office management, serving as the element of continuity to ensure Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) support the mission and objectives established by management.
Initiates and receives calls for information pertaining to administrative and office management matters.
Maintains supervisor's and staff members' calendars of appointments, meetings, and conferences.
Makes travel arrangements for supervisor and staff members to include transportation, hotel reservations, and travel authorizations, including ticket pick-up and refund.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
- Duties of the position require the skill of a qualified typist.

Specialized Experience:
One year of specialized experience which includes, managing all aspects of travel requirements to include scheduling, completion of orders and travel vouchers; Manage incoming correspondence, documents, directives, and orders to ensure appropriate distribution; Manage calendar and schedule various meetings and events for senior management. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NK-2/GS-7).
Proficiency Required:This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
