You will serve as a SUPERVISORY OPERATIONS RESEARCH ANALYST in the INSTALLATIONS ANALYTICS BRANCH of MARCORPS NATIONAL CAPITAL REGION.

Duties

You will observe workers' performance; demonstrate and conduct work performance critiques. You will comply with occupational safety and health standards applicable to USMC and with all rules, regulations, and orders issued by USMC with respect to the occupational safety and health program. You will analyze industry problems, trends, and issues, and recommended or made final decisions on the formulation and implementation of MCICOM-wide policies as well as accompanying legislative or regulatory proposals. You will provide leadership on highly complex, unprecedented problems of critical importance, and handles assignments that involve a broad and general responsibility for accurate data collection and analysis.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Analyzing, identifying, or evaluating information to determine the implications and relevance to provide solutions to problems; and apply mathematical or statistical theory and methods to collect, organize, interpret, and summarize numerical data to provide usable information. Education

Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual:

Applicants must possess a degree: in operations research; or at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus.
