Duties

This position starts at a salary of $99,200.00 (GS-12, Step 1) to $153,354.00 (GS-13, Step 10) with promotion potential to $153,354 (GS-13 Step 10).

In this position you will serve as a Digital Communication Specialist responsible for supporting Office of Trade's digital engagement program by helping develop, refine, and execute Office of Trade's digital engagement strategy.
Typical work assignments include:
Assisting with developing a social media strategic plan and implementation guidelines for growing our digital footprint.
Developing and /or reviewing social media content, and video scripts regularly and maintaining a digital engagements editorial calendar for various campaign planning efforts.
Assisting with developing graphics, and visuals, consistent with the Officer of Trade brand.
Analyzing external website, CBP.gov, for 508 accessibility issues, broken hyperlinks, and formatting errors.
Reviewing and managing web requests for both our external website, as well as internal SharePoint Online websites.
Qualifications
Experience: You qualify for the GS-12 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as:
Reviewing and managing web requests for both our external website, as well as internal SharePoint Online websites.
Planning, writing, and editing social media content, video scripts and other various digital campaign products.
Working with and understanding a variety of social media platforms and their respective participants (X, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Flickr, etc.) and how each platform they can be leveraged for different scenarios.
Developing and managing of various social media outlets and trends analysis for a large organization.
Researching, developing, and producing web marketing and social media campaigns, tactics, and tools to improve operations and objectives through the various outlets of social media.
Experience: You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as:
Developing a social media strategy as well as researching, drafting, and monitoring social media contents and initiatives.
Developing brand awareness, generating inbound traffic, and encouraging product adoption.
Analyzing, monitoring, addressing 508 compliance accessibility issues within documents for website positing.
Analyzing, reviewing, and reporting on the effectiveness of campaigns in an effort to maximize results.
Refining, implementing, and managing social media campaigns and day-to-day activities.
Supporting the management of agency's external facing website, by streamlining content updates and utilizing content management system to deliver timely and accurate updates.

You must:
Meet all qualification requirements, including education if applicable to this position, subject to verification at any stage of the application process; and
Meet all applicable Time in Grade requirements (current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the federal service) by 12/10/2024.

Residency: There is a residency requirement for all applicants not currently employed by CBP. Probationary Period: All employees new to the federal government must serve a one year probationary period during the first year of his/her initial permanent federal appointment to determine fitness for continued employment.
