About the Position: Serves as Administrative Support Assistant (OA), supporting the Directorate of Emergency Services Police/Provost Marshal Division Fort Buchanan Puerto Rico.

Duties

Provide technical recommendations to the Security Administrator and Supervisor on all matters related to the access control systems on the installation Make recommendations to the Security Administrator on new systems and procedures. Serve as lead for administrative workload, determining the disposition of all inquiries made relative to the overall activities of the Directorate of Plans, Training Mobilization and Security (DPTMS). Review access requests for Foreign Military ships/vessels to access the installation and utilizes facilities. Serve as Training Coordinator Assistant for Directorate Prepare recurring budget reports to reflect current fund status as information is received. Use Army Regulation 25-50 Preparing and Managing Correspondence to ensure written documents meet established requirements

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. This position requires a Secret Clearance.
  • This position requires a typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute (WPM) based on a 5 minute sample with 3 or fewer errors.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Customer Service (Clerical/Technical)Reasoning (Clerical/Technical)Self-ManagementWriting Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
