As a National Bank Examiner/Bank Examiner (Large Bank Field Examiner) with emphasis in Bank Information Technology (BIT), you will serve as an examination Examiner-in-Charge (EIC) of BIT supervisory activities, planning/conducting examinations, and preparation of reports.

Duties
As a National Bank Examiner/Bank Examiner (Large Bank Field Examiner) with emphasis in Bank Information Technology (BIT), you will:
Plan, organize, and control supervisory activities in large banks, and occasionally for midsize banks and/or the most complex community banks.
Assess, develop supervisory strategies, and determine the scope of the supervisory activities including plans to effect corrective action and programs to monitor bank progress.
Evaluate the effectiveness of BIT functions, identifify systemic BIT risks and trends, and recommend changes in examination policy and procedures. Establish a network of industry experts on practices and trends.
Prepare reports of activities, and develop responses to address risks within the organization.
Conduct or participate in discussions with senior bank management on findings and recommendations. Review and discuss findings, conclusions, and areas of concern with the Board of Directors, committees of the board, or senior bank management.
Prepare communications to foster positive changes within the bank. Maintain effective communications internally within the OCC and/or external to the agency. Ensure appropriate coordination and follow up activities take place.
Serve as a technical expert and advisor to management and staff and examiners. May serve as training team leader and/or instructor; provide leadership and training to other examiners, including assigned staff during supervisory activities.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of this announcement:
You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the NB-V band level. Examples of specialized experience for this position include:
Leading Bank Information Technology (BIT) examinations, audits, or reviews to monitor systemic risks and the effectiveness of BIT systems and processes (e.g., development/implementation of IT controls, data management, organizational network/technology infrastructure, data privacy/governance, information security/cybersecurity systems, third party/vendor management, etc.); AND to determine a financial institution's overall compliance with applicable banking laws and regulations.
The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector, or through volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
