You will serve as an Environmental Engineer or Physical Scientist (Interdisciplinary) in the Environmental Business Line of NAVAL FAC ENGINEERING CMD WASH.

Duties

You will be responsible for timely execution of environmental Compliance, Planning and Conservation, Restoration projects for naval facilities. You will be responsible for coordinating with Contracts and Environmental Business Line the identification of effective acquisition strategies. You will be responsible for ensuring that appropriate Contract vehicles are in place to facilitate execution of all EV projects. You will be responsible for induction process of all EV projects You will be responsible for answering fields questions, deconflicting Contracting issues, and advocating environmental compliance.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Incumbent shall be HAZPOWER certified within 12 months appointment to this position.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-12) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:1) Applying a wide range of environmental engineering or physical science theories, concepts, principles, standards, and methods sufficient to determine and/ or execute actions for a wide range of assignments; 2) Applying combinations of complex features, and to formulate, execute, advise on, and explain recommendations or solutions to modify standard practices, equipment devices, processes, and techniques and resolve a wide variety of complete problems; and 3) Having knowledge of facilities acquisition and overall system requirements, as well as project funding authority levels and sources, contract requirements, contract documents, proposal and bidding procedures. Education

  1. Degree: physical science, engineering, or mathematics that included 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science such as mechanics, dynamics, properties of materials, and electronics.

    or

  2. Combination of education and experience -- education equivalent to one of the majors shown in A above that included at least 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
