About the Position: This position is located in the US Army Corps of Engineers, Louisville District, Office of Counsel where you will function as a Law Office Management Analyst performing key work in several vital functions or services such as legal administrative operations management, automation management, resource management, knowledge management, personnel recruitment management, and safety management.

Duties

Analyze legal systems and evaluate internal management plans and processes and advise leadership on quality assurance and internal control measures. Build and enhance matter tracking and data collection tools, extracts data and statistical info and provide reports utilizing databases and data management systems. Continually analyze existing business processes and practices in all legal functional areas while implementing and exhibiting clear understanding of law office management practices and procedures. Resolve user application problems of automation systems; build and maintain legal databases; provide related training to office staff and external personnel. Prepare, manage and process equipment inventory; ensure office possesses adequate equipment, data management, knowledge management and retention; and coordinate with office staff and external personnel to maintain and improve office functionality. Lead pilot/experimentation and change management initiatives and perform quality control/quality assurance activities in support of legal operations. Design and lead development of solutions to knowledge gaps; serve as the OC Knowledge Manager, Webmaster, SharePoint Administrator and Strategic Initiative Officer; serve as administrator of digital and web-based legal tools and applications.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes utilizing databases and data management systems and software to build and enhance tracking and data collection tools; extracting data and statistical information to prepare legal and administrative reports relating to system status, production quality/quantity, and usage; and performing information and automation management and systems integration ensuring legal systems and processes follow industry standards regarding confidentiality. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR A Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Data ManagementKnowledge ManagementManagement SupportOperations Support Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
