This position is located in Gateway National Recreation Area, in the Facility Management Division. The incumbent will serve as the Roads and Grounds Supervisor for the Sandy Hook Unit Maintenance Opertions or the Staten Island Unit Maintenance Operation and provides direct work supervision and oversight over the maintenance of cultural landscapes, roads, beaches, trails, grounds, and facilities.
Duties
The selectee plans, assigns, and directs the work of all subordinates and assures quality of work. Incumbent has substantially full supervisory responsibility over work operations and subordinates. Incumbent also performs mixed duties of a general nature necessary for the proper operation, maintenance, and repair of cultural landscapes, roads, beaches, trails, grounds, and facility maintenance. Incumbent supports roads and grounds operations as required including snow removal, park events, and or emergencies. Incumbent may be required to do simple laboring tasks as an incidental part of his or her general duties including building maintenance, repair, and custodial work.

Operation of Motor Vehicles
Work Practices (include keeping things neat, clean, and in order)
Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc. (related to mobile equipment operation)
Ability to Operate Safely (Non-Motor Vehicle)
Ability to Drive Safely (Motor Vehicles)
Reliability and Dependability as an Engineering Equipment Operator Supervisor.
