This position is based in the Office of the Director (OD) at the National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR), within the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). The incumbent serves as a Team Lead Research Activities Administrator to the Chief of Staff or his/her designee, offering expert guidance, advice, and counsel to the Director and other senior NINR leadership.

Duties

Advises senior officials on research and administrative activities, coordinating NINR efforts in planning, evaluation, grants, budget management, policy development, and reporting. Oversees logistical coordination and ensures that all logistics activities, including room reservations, transportation, and travel. Develops and oversees the implementation of internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and timelines to ensure the critical and necessary tasks related to the planning and hosting of Council meetings are done in an efficient and timely manner. Collaborates closely with the NINR Chief of Staff to advise and support management and administrative staff in fulfilling the Institute's duties and responsibilities. Tracks and measures progress on priority IMOD activities and follow-up for internal and external meetings to ensure senior managers’ time and attention are focused most effectively.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship requirement or proof of being a U.S. National must be met by closing date.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for the GS-14 level, you must meet the following requirements: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: Administering research activities for a biomedical research organization; managing advisory council issues and meetings; evaluating the effectiveness of organizational programs or operations; and coordinating and collaborating with senior officials and program staff on research activities, accomplishments, or issues.
