This position is located at US Mint,Financial Directorate - Human Capital Program Management Division. As an HR Specialist (Employee Benefits), you will provide comprehensive and authoritative staff program management in Workers Compensation Program or other HR specialties and/or projects relating to substantive, mission-oriented programs for the US Mint.
Duties
As an HR Specialist (Employee Benefits), you will:
The following are the duties of this position at the GS-13.
Provide expert authoritative technical advice and assistance to senior management and customers covering the full spectrum of injury compensation claims with Office Workers Compensations Program.
Develop, initiate, and direct OWCP program strategic planning activities; identify long and short term objectives, and formulate Service-wide OWCP program strategies for top management.
Serve as an analyst and leader for HR related program areas, provide expert assistance and advice on personnel management issues and special assigned projects.
Independently or collaboratively develop and explore alternative HRM solutions and recommend new or modified programs to management.

Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 14 days of the closing date of this announcement.
The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12grade level in the Federal service.
Specialized experience for this position includes:
Developing and exploring alternative HRM solutions and recommending new or modified programs to management; AND
Analyzing, interpreting, and researching employee injury compensation benefits data to identify, summarize, and prepare reports; AND
Providing advisory services to employees and upper management officials as they relate to employee injury compensation benefits.
In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-13 you must have been at the GS-12level for 52 weeks.
For the GS-12, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11grade level in the Federal service.
Specialized experience or General experience for this position includes:
Analyzing, interpreting, and researching employee injury compensation benefits data to identify, summarize, and prepare reports; AND
Providing advisory services to employees and upper management officials as they relate to employee injury compensation benefits.
In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-12 you must have been at the GS-11level for 52 weeks.
