About the Position: Serves as a technical and procedural member of the administrative team, in support to the supervisor, Division management and staff. Utilizes expertise in the technical, procedural, and administrative functions of the office to provide executive level assistance, accurate guidance, analysis, and interpretation of issues and work requests.
Duties
Prepare complex reports and correspondence to assist supervisors in administrative functions and mission execution.
Resolve time and attendance issues by coordinating with timekeepers and providing accurate coding guidance.
Provide knowledge on travel policies and compensation processing, ensuring compliance with division regulations.
Compile information from multiple sources to support problem-solving and decision-making initiatives within the organization.
Provide support to office staff by understanding leave types, coding time, and organizational regulations.
Maintain organization calendars to support continuity of operations and effective schedule management.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Temporary Duty travel up to 5% of the time.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Developing reports to compile information, prepare charts and presentations to support organizational decision making; 2) Performing analysis and research to collect data and determine trends within the organization; AND 3) Coordinating travel requests and maintaining division calendars to support staff and management. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-06.
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
