Join the team that safeguards the financial system from the abuses of financial crime. At the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN), we are at the forefront in preventing and detecting terrorist financing, money laundering, and other financial crime. The Global Investigations Division is a key unit within FinCEN that proactively addresses foreign illicit finance threat to the U.S. financial system.
Duties
This position is located in our Global Investigations Division. As a Program Administration Specialist, you will:
Provide a variety of administrative services in support of the Division's operations, which include budget, workload management, preparing travel requests, making reservations, submitting vouchers for reimbursement, and coordinating and prioritizing the calendars of Division leadership.
Conduct research on a wide variety of programmatic and administrative issues, utilizing data from a variety of sources, including direct contacts with appropriate subject matter experts. Summarizes the findings in formats appropriate to the use. Based on the findings, recommends courses of action.
Request input from and review materials submitted by the staff and external sources, and integrate the information based on knowledge of the Division's priorities, to ensure a wide variety of data is available to Division leadership and staff.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized experience: For the GS-12, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as:
Interpreting and applying guidelines which apply to routine work situations; AND
Developing and implementing standard management and administrative processes within an organization.
Some examples of how this experience could be met include:
Utilizing information technology systems to access, catalog, develop, and maintain records, reports, and files to support an organization's business processes; or
Overseeing or coordinating various administrative services in support of an organization's program operations, such as accounting, budget, workload management, human resources, time and attendance, and travel; or
Developing, enhancing, and implementing standard management and administrative processes within an organization, including by providing training and other resources as needed, and identifying and recommending improvements to policies and procedures.
Specialized experience: For the GS-11, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
Applying guidelines to routine work situations; and
Assisting with the development of standard management and administrative processes within an organization.
Some examples of how this experience could be met include:
Utilizing information technology systems to access and maintain records and files to support an organization's business processes; or
Assisting with the coordination of various administrative services in support of an organization's program operations, such as accounting, budget, workload management, human resources, time and attendance, and travel; or
Assisting with the development of standard management and administrative processes within an organization, including identifying and recommending improvements to policies and procedures.
OR
you may substitute education for specialized experience as follows:
a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; OR
3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree; OR
a LL.M., if related;
OR
You may qualify on a combination of education and experience. To combine education and experience, the total percentage of experience at the required grade level compared to the requirement, as well as the percentage of completed education compared to the requirement must equal at least 100 percent. Only graduate level education in excess of the first 36 semester hours (54 quarter hours) may be combined to be considered for qualifying education.
