This position is at the full performance level located in the Health Informatics Service. Timely, effective communication with Veterans is critical to the mission of the VA. The incumbent maintains the administrative functions of the Connected Health/Connected Care Program delivery by delegation of supervisor or designee. The incumbent collaborates with various care lines and providers using different types of modalities with the objectives of improving access and patient satisfaction.

The Mobile Provider iPad Program and the Digital Divide Program are sponsored by the VHA Office of Connected Care (OCC). The Mobile Provider iPad Program provides iPads to Clinicians to use in the day-to-day patient care activities. The Digital Divide Program provides electronic devices to veterans in need, assisting them in communicating with their care providers;
The incumbent is a point of contact for providers desiring to enroll in the Mobile Provider Program. The incumbent is knowledgeable of OCC's rules governing eligibility for enrollment. Assists providers to navigate the iPad request process. The incumbent assists providers with initial device setup as well as problem solving/troubleshooting device issues;
Incumbent maintains inventory of iPads issued to STX providers, tracks, and reports to Connected Health Coordinator when iPad Data Plans are due for renewal. Works with providers who no longer desire or need an iPad follows proper protocol to return the devices to OCC;
The incumbent works with stakeholders to provide device training to those patients enrolled in the OCC Digital Divide Program. Ensures patient has necessary software applications and is familiar with usage;
The incumbent is responsible for training service and facility staff in various information technology packages to include but not limited to Secure Messaging. provides oversight for a variety of software programs integral to the overall administration and operations of the Health Informatics;
The incumbent provides user support through training and troubleshooting problems; equipment support including maintaining the inventory, assisting with requests for repair and maintenance, and assisting with new equipment requests. The work involves preparing reports and presentation materials, managing, and responding to routine and recurring IT support needs, training, and office support needs within the Health Informatics Service line;
Position will required travel to VA outreach and training events for coverage and will require irregular tour of duties to meet support needs. Government Vehicle or Travel reimbursement will be requested when traveling beyond 50 miles of your base location.
Work Schedule: 7:30am - 4:00pm, Monday - Friday
Telework: VA supports the use of telework as a way to help attract and retain talented individuals in public service, increase worker productivity, and better prepare the agency to operate during emergencies. This position may be authorized for telework. Telework eligibility will be discussed during the interview process.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 12/12/2024.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Knowledgeable of information security principles and methods; Practical knowledge of IT equipment and systems; Knowledge of marketing and advertising; Skill to use Excel, Word and PowerPoint programs; and skill, knowledge and ability to analyze a variety of reports, studies, fact sheets, and other documents.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment.
Physical Requirements: Regular and recurring work is mostly sedentary involving sitting at a desk, although the position requires the ability to move from one geographic location of the facility to another. The incumbent works with a computer screen and keyboard. Some physical effort such as standing, walking, bending or prolonged sitting may be required. The incumbent may be exposed to walking to outlying areas. The work places no special physical demands on the employee.
