This position is part of the Selective Service System, Operations Directorate, Region 3. The incumbent will be responsible for recruiting and assigning military and civilian personnel. As well as maintaining automated budgeting, planning, training and personnel systems.
Duties
Meets the Regions human resources, budget and management analysis needs.
Coordinates with Region Manager and Operations Manager in the responsibility of daily operations of joint military and civilian activities for 55 states and territories.
Arranges for confidential and policy level conferences and meetings between stakeholders, high-ranking officials, leaders of trade associates and government agency representatives.
Oversight with responsibilities that relates to government credit card applications and accountable property.
Qualifications
At the GS-11 level, you must meet one of the following qualifications:
A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-9 level. Specialized experience is that which has equipped the applicant with the competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. Examples of specialized experience for this position include: 1) Track milestones and priorities to ensure progress is made toward program objectives; 2) Interpret human resources policy to advise on staffing functions; and 3) Analyze expenditure reports, compile figures, and resolve discrepancies with management.
OR
B. A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; or LL.M., if related in one of the following fields: business, administration, or other related fields;
OR
C. A Combination of education and experience as listed above.
At the GS-12 level, you must meet the following qualification:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level. Specialized experience is that which has equipped the applicant with the competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. Examples of specialized experience for this position include: 1) Develop and track plans and milestones for efforts toward program objectives; 2) Develop operating procedures and methods required for completing projects; 3) Review staffing requirements to assure effectiveness and planning for short- or long-term requirements in accordance to human resources policy; 4) Analyze use of funds, identifies problem areas, plans for development, improvement or other aspects of the overall budget and funding program.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
