This vacancy is for a GS-2010-09/11, Inventory Management Specialist located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, Aviation Logistics Center, Medium Range Recovery (MRR) Product Line, MRR Supply Branch, Elizabeth City, North Carolina.

Duties
You will serve as an Inventory Management Specialist and be responsible for maintaining, ordering, and positioning material in support of the depot level maintenance facility and Coast Guard air station maintenance program for a category of complex materials. The primary purpose of the position is to manage inventory items.
Qualifications
To qualify at the GS-09 grade level, applicants must have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
Specialized experience must include the following:
Experience applying basic knowledge of directives, policies and procedures governing inventory management principles, laws, and regulations to provide basic information to managers and employees about common issues or problems related to supply requirements.
Experience working with automated inventory control systems.
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
NOTE: Education can be substituted for experience at this grade level.
Applicants may also qualify at the GS-09 grade level by successful completion of a Master's or equivalent degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, or LL.B or J.D., if related, from an accredited college or university.
To qualify at the GS-11 grade level, applicants must have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
Specialized experience must include the following:
Experience performing long range supply and demand planning.
Experience analyzing and evaluating the effectiveness of supply programs and or operations.
Experience analyzing and resolving difficult/unusual issues and problems with inventory management.
Experience initiating and monitoring the procurement of items characterized by a long or fluctuating procurement lead time where there are difficult supply and demand patterns.
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
NOTE: Education can be substituted for experience at this grade level.
Applicants may also qualify at the GS-11 grade level by successful completion of a Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M, if related, from an accredited college or university.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience are qualifying for all grade levels for which both education and experience are acceptable. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
