This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), United States Coast Guard (USCG), Aviation Logistics Center (ALC), Engineering Services Division (ESD), Elizabeth City, NC.

Duties

This position serves as a senior inventory management specialist, performing analytical work in managing, regulating, coordinating, or exercising control for a complete category of highly complex materials.Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team.  Typical work assignments include

Qualifications

At the GS-12 level: Applicant must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service is required. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include:  analyzing and evaluating the effectiveness and efficiency of Inventory Control Point (ICP) level inventory management programs and operations; monitoring the status of funds; developing and managing a budget for the procurement of material and services in support of managed items; and recommending improvements to enhance inventory management program and/or operations effectiveness. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

This position does not have a positive education requirement. If you are including education on your resume, report only attendance and/or degrees from schools accredited by accrediting institutions recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
