About the Position: This position serves as the Financial Technician within the Financial Management Division at Naval Hospital Jacksonville (NHJAX) in Jacksonville, FL. 8 hour work days in a office setting. FLEX may be authorized.
This is a Direct Hire Solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base (DIB) & Major Range and Test Facilities Base (MRTFB)
Duties
Perform technical work in support of the receipt, disbursement, examination, deposit and custody of cash items which includes handling cash items or use of cash accountability control methods.
Provide account maintenance and accounting support in designated area.
Perform technician work in support of budget analysis and administration such as maintain ledgers, budget formulation, compiling, consolidating, checking and arranging funding data.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
- This position has mandatory seasonal Influenza vaccination requirements and is subject to annual seasonal Influenza vaccinations unless otherwise exempted for medical or religious reasons (documentation of exemption must be provided upon hire).
- The incumbent must complete training and meet position requirements for certification at Level 1 within 2 years of appointment. Failure to obtain and maintain this certification within the required time may subject the incumbent to adverse action.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position requires the incumbent to have Tuberculosis testing.

Specialized Experience: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service which includes operating varies accounting/financial systems such as GFEBS to run different query reports; assisting in consolidating budgets data; maintaining medical billing and third-party collections; and handling/depositing cash items for processing.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
