About the Position: This position serves as the Financial Technician within the Financial Management Division at Naval Hospital Jacksonville (NHJAX) in Jacksonville, FL. 8 hour work days in a office setting. FLEX may be authorized. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base (DIB) & Major Range and Test Facilities Base (MRTFB)

Duties

Determines pay, payroll records maintenance and completion of reports pertaining to civilian employees of the Federal Government. Provides accounting support work requiring a basic understanding of accounting systems, policies, and procedures to examine, verify, maintain and reconcile accounts and accounting data, prepare and analyze reports. Examines financial documentation for accuracy, adequacy, and with compliance with regulations for goods and services provided to or by the Government. Answers requests and provide advice to employees, supervisors, staff, and personnel specialists on pay related rules, regulations, and procedures. Performing work to establish, maintain, correct and close pay accounts.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
• This position has mandatory seasonal Influenza vaccination requirements and is subject to annual seasonal Influenza vaccinations unless otherwise exempted for medical or religious reasons (documentation of exemption must be provided upon hire).
• The incumbent must complete training and meet position requirements for certification at Level 1 within 2 years of appointment. Failure to obtain and maintain this certification within the required time may subject the incumbent to adverse action.
• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
• This position requires the incumbent to have Tuberculosis testing.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service which includes utilizing accounting systems to maintain accounting data or create financial reports; providing advice and/or guidance on pay related rules, regulations, and procedures; and maintaining payroll records for personnel within an organization or agency.
