Duties
You will implement or optimize functionality and performance of GIS systems and technologies to ensure availability, integrity, efficiency, and reliability of GIS data-driven systems.
You will produce and integrate GIS data as well as conduct geospatial analysis to support the deployment of DoD systems around the world.
You will review, evaluate, and modify geospatial mapping data, systems and technologies to support engineering needs across the Command.
You will serve as a technical leader and/or subject matter expert (SME) on an integrated product team (IPT).
You will identify GIS and IT problems that are of an unusual or complex nature, develop and implement a corrective technical plan of action.
You will support the development, coaching, and mentoring of team members.

Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or ND-03 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Ability to develop GIS data and conduct spatial analysis using the ESRI suite of products; script software in order to integrate, transform, convert, automate, and validate GIS data and spatial analysis; integrate AutoCAD products with GIS. Knowledge of cartography and remote sensing methods and technologies and how they contribute to development, operation, and maintenance of a functional GIS; the principles, methods, and practices for integrating geospatial components sufficient to plan, coordinate, and deploy GIS mapping systems; the Spatial Data Standard for Facilities, Infrastructure and Environment (SDSFIE) data model.

Degree: cartography; or a major that included or was supplemented by at least 30 semester hours in cartography and/or directly related science, and related mathematics. Such course work includes, but is not limited to, cartography, astronomy, geodesy, photogrammetry, physical and geological oceanography, computer science, land surveying, geophysics, physical geography, and remote sensing. The 30 semester hours must have included at least 6, but no more than 15, semester hours of college level, non-business mathematics or statistics (i.e., college level algebra, trigonometry, calculus, or scientific mathematics or statistics requiring equivalent college-level courses as prerequisites).

Combination of education and experience -- courses equivalent to a major in cartography, or a major that included or was supplemented by at least 30 semester hours in cartography, and/or directly related science, and related mathematics, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
1515:
Degree: in operations research; or at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus.
