You will serve as a SECURITY SPECIALIST (CBRNE EQUIPMENT TRAINING AND TECH SUPPORT in the Operations and Plans Division, Installation Protection Branch of MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON.
Duties
You are responsible for the design, development, implementation, evaluation and validation of a CBRNE/HAZMAT training program from individual training through full scale implementation exercises throughout the region.
You will develop course material, periods of instruction, CBRNE/HAZMAT equipment technical data and specifications, training equipment inventory and equipment training records.
You will conduct training in the areas of detection, identification, decontamination, individual protection plans and programs and installation incident management systems support.
You will participate in and provide recommendation for improvement to all CBRNE training materials and course curriculum for all CBRNE/HAZMAT instruction.
You will assist in the research, planning, coordination and integration of new CBRNE equipment technology and procedures during the annual course review.
You will provide technical support for the MCIWEST CBRNE IPP in the areas of CBRNE/HAZMAT detection, decontamination, incident management and personnel protective equipment.
You will conduct annual CBRNE/HAZMAT equipment inventories in accordance with established procedures.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Designing, developing and implementing a CBRNE/Hazmat training program, conducting multi-levels of response training, providing recommendations for training program improvement and providing technical support for troubleshooting and maintenance of related equipment.

Education
In lien of specialized experience, applicants can qualify for this position through education substitution. To do so, applicants must possess:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
or
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.M., if related
Applicants can also qualify for this position through a combination of education and experience which when combined equal one year of specialized experience.
For qualifying through education, transcripts must be provided for education verification and the education must be in a subject area related to this position.
