About the Position: Service is of an executive nature, comprised of complex leadership and administrative components, associated with critical health care issues and activities that influence the organizational mission, health care, and policy. Serves within the Office of the Surgeon General (OTSG) and U.S. Army Medical Command (USA MEDCOM) with headquarters offices located in the National Capitol Region (NCR) and San Antonio, Texas (SAT).
Duties
Serves as the Chief of the Army Brain Health Program for the U.S. Army Medical Command and functions as the singular subject matter expert regarding brain health issues to include but not limited traumatic brain injury (TBI).
Comprehensive oversight for all brain health related services throughout MEDCOM, to include cognitive monitoring translating best practices into policies; procedures and guidance.
Directs and coordinates the work of multidisciplinary staff. Subordinate staff consists of six senior military officers in the ranks of major or lieutenant colonel and one Department of Army Civilian.
Requirements
- Able to obtain and maintain Secret Security Clearance
- Up to 20% TDY may be required

- May be required to work extended hours or have uncommon tour of duty

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-14).
