You will serve as a PUBLIC AFFAIRS SPECIALIST in the NAVY AND MARINE CORPS FORCE HEALTH PROTECTION COMMAND (NMCFHPC) of NAVY-MARINE CORPS PUB HLTH CEN.

Duties

You will shape, lead, and evaluate Department of Defense (DOD) and Department of the Navy (DON) efforts to use written communication to inform and persuade audiences on complex, sensitive, or controversial issues. You will develop and implement strategic marketing and communication plans, including public, government, media, community, and leadership relations, brand and reputation management, crisis communication, and employee engagement efforts. You will lead staff and public affairs stakeholders in planning and response efforts. You will plan and coordinate the dissemination of information relating to organization's programs, objectives, and functions through news media.

Requirements

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: *Experience utilizing skills in Communication, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field of study to develop written materials designed to encourage affected publics to adopt positions on a variety of issues. *Experience utilizing software programs such as Adobe Suite, Canva, Microsoft Suite, and Social Media to design, develop, collaborate, and distribute campaigns. *Experience making oral presentations or training others to conduct meetings designed to obtain public input on program issues and develop a consensus position from among divergent viewpoints. *Experience applying branding, marketing, written and oral communications techniques, education principles, methods, and analytical techniques associated with public health, product line, and consumer marketing. *Experience establishing and maintaining working relationships with a variety of publics some of whom have opposing points of view from the organization and where the specialist must defend the developed policy or point of view in the face of heavy criticism in unstructured settings.
