This position is located in a National Park Service Unit. The primary purpose of the position is to perform manual labor tasks involving the use of common hand-tools and simple power equipment.

Duties

Uses basic hand tools and simple power equipment such as handsaws, hatchets, clippers, hand lawnmowers to maintain buildings and grounds. Operates power equipment that includes visual check of the equipment, lubrication, cleaning/replacing air filters and refueling. Loads and unloads materials by hand or with hand trucks up to 50 pounds regularly. Mows lawns and performs other grounds maintenance including trimming and weed eating. Perform interior and exterior custodial maintenance on buildings. Maintain restrooms in a clean, orderly, and sanitary condition. Empty trash and recycle containers. Perform and complete continuing work assignments following only general instructions. Observe all safety requirements when using custodial, hand tools, and power tools, including personal protective equipment (ear protective devices, safety glasses, gloves). Safely load and unload supplies and other diverse materials and objects. This is an open continuous vacancy announcement. Applicants will be referred periodically throughout the announcement period.
