About the Position: Join us at the United States Southern Command. We provide direct support to a four-star unified Combatant Commander, but are compact enough that our staff also works with senior leadership representatives of our inter-service, inter-agency and (public and private) international partner organizations. Our contribution to furthering our country's relationships with South and Central American nations and peoples are substantial.
Duties
Perform as Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) for all contracted USSOUTHCOM Military Information Support Operations (MISO) execution and support platforms.
Provide MISO operational guidance to USSOUTHCOM Components.
Establish MISO resource apportionment to USSOUTHCOM Components and deployed MISO forces within Theater.
Draft PLANORDs, EXORDs, TASKORDs, CONOPs, for MISO, and determine Request for Forces, and Requests for Support of MISO assets and funding.
Coordinate MISO forces support and requirements with Joint Staff and USSOCOM.
Support authoritative guidance for MISO execution platforms and branch personnel.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security clearance.
- This position has a mandatory drug testing requirement. Employee must pass screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and subsequent periodic drug screening thereafter.
- Temporary duty travel may be required approximately 20% of the time.
- Must obtain and maintain Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) certification within 6 months of employment.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service which includes 1) Working with Country Teams and Partner Nation Military Information Support Operations (MISO) related agencies. 2) Understanding military command structure and its policies concerning missions, agency programs, and organizational relationships. 3) Drafting contract requirements for analysis and assessments.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
