About the Position: Serve as a Logistics Management Specialist for Military Ocean Terminal, Concord (MOTCO) Installation with responsibility for providing technical guidance on installation supply, property book, transportation, and maintenance matters and monitoring contractor performance.
Duties
Consult with Operations Department and Executive Officer on major management policies, procedures, and problems affecting the battalion's logistics mission and operations.
Exercise initiative and leadership in meeting and/or maintaining logistics projects and/or programs.
Manage and coordinates Battalion logistical activities such as maintenance, supply, transportation, property accountability, and other related logistical activities.
Develop and recommends establishment of local procedures to govern the 834th's logistical operations and management of resources.
Research, analyze, and compile data in multiple systems, including GCSS-Army, for reports and briefings.
Serve as a Contractive Officer's Representative (COR).
Prepare proposed logistics budget submission and program operation changes relative to fund utilization for discussion and review by supervisor.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Must complete Contracting Officer Representative (COR) training within 30 days of entering the position.

- Incumbent may be required to serve a one-year probationary period.
- Incumbent may be required to travel up to 10% to perform duties and/or attend training.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing technical logistical assistance on installation supply and maintenance program. Monitoring contractor performance. Assist in developing plans for effectiveness and efficiency of supported programs. Conduct analysis of logistical support requirements to identify solutions to support problems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
OR
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, in such fields as supply chain management, logistics, business administration, quality assurance and other related fields.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
