You will serve as a Supervisory Firefighter/DEPUTY FIRE CHIEF in the Commander, Navy Region Hawaii (CNRH) of COMMANDER NAVY REGION HAWAII.
Duties
You will assist the Fire Chief in developing and implementing plans, programs and procedures necessary to carry out the departments responsibility to protect lives and property within the AOR.
You will coordinate, review, approve, and monitors plans for new construction projects which includes fire protection systems, installations and upgrades.
You will project short and long range financial planning, determines fiscal requirements and develop annual budgets.
You will establish and update policies pertaining to workforce and personnel management, labor relations, firefighting operations and tactics, training, scheduling of work, leave, and predetermined assignment of apparatus response.
You will develop employee performance standards and makes formal and informal appraisals of work,
giving advice, counsel and instructions to employees as required.
You will present fire protection and prevention education or training to employees.

- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

***Certification Requirements: This position requires the incumbent to possess the following certifications: Fire Officer IV, Fire Inspector II, Fire Instructor II, Airport Firefighter and Hazmat Incident Commander. These certifications must have been awarded by DoD, IFSAC or ProBoard to meet the requirement. You are strongly encouraged to attach copies of all of the above certifications with your application.
