Duties
You will install and splice aerial, underground, and direct buried cable from work orders to include installation of terminals, load coils, and all associated hardware and equipment.
You will use test equipment to analyze and locate troubles and faults by testing for opens, shorts, crosses, grounds, and similar troubles and makes appropriate repairs and/or replacement.
You will climb poles and ladders and work from aerial platforms or bucket trucks to maintain aerial cable.
You will provide written and/or oral reports of status of work or evaluations as to resolving problems encountered on the job.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- This position requires that the selectee have visual acuity and accurate color discrimination. I am able to distinguish between colors and shades of colors.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final SECRET security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a state Class B commercial driver's license for vehicles weighing up to 13 tons within one year of employment.
- You will be required to possess a current valid United States driver’s license. NOTE: Failure to submit a copy of your valid DL will result in disqualification, and you will NOT be referred to the hiring manager.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
