About the Position: Fort Belvoir is located in Fairfax County, VA along the Potomac River.
Duties
Performs and coordinate all the clerical and day-to-day administrative support activities required to accomplish the work of the Fire Prevention and Training Branches.
Receives all incoming telephone calls, referring the caller as appropriate to branches of the division.
Acts as liaison between the Director and personnel associated with the Director's program areas within and outside the activity.
Schedule meetings, agendas, and other matters necessary to implement policies, directives, and Division Chief's instructions.
Make travel arrangements, schedule visits, make transportation and housing reservations.
Prepares or sees that travel orders, vouchers, and necessary security clearances are prepared and forwarded as required.
Organizes and maintains files and reference material; observes security regulations in handling and storage of security sensitive material.
Performs work related to the practical and technical aspects of office administration including issues related to budget, personnel administration, time keeping, data processing, project tracking, and files management.
Serves as procurement technician responsible for performing a variety of technical and clerical procurement support activities for the area assigned.
Must be a qualified typist; prepares a variety of material using an electronic typewriter and computer terminal to produce a material, i.e., correspondence, technical reports, briefings, tables, forms, and viewgraphs.

- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- The incumbent must possess a valid motor vehicle driver's license.
- Qualified typist is required.

Specialized Experience: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Performing administrative functions such as receiving phone calls, records review and personnel management; 2) Utilizing automated systems to preparing correspondence, creating reports, maintaining files, and preparing travel arrangements; 3) Reviewing and tracking suspense timelines of personnel actions.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
