This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Medicaid and CHIP Services CMCS, Operations Services Group (OSG).
As a Management Analyst, GS-0343-13, you will serve as a program manager for CMCS's travel function.
Duties
Providing quality and timely expertise on travel policies and operations in order to meet the full range of travelers' business needs.
Ensuring payment of all travel vouchers for business travelers is performed in accordance with agency accounting standards, internal controls, and other procedures governing how Federal travel expenses are procured, reimbursed, and audited.
Conducting financial/budgetary analysis studies on multiple funding streams to monitor spending and assuring proper usage of funds.
Developing, updating and maintaining SOPs to ensure on-demand access by travelers, travel preparers, conference participants, and approvers.
Preparing comprehensive documents to develop materials that are easily understood by various audiences, including SOPs, instructions, papers, guides, and management reports.

In order to qualify for the GS-13 , you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include:
Providing guidance to management and staff on policies, procedures, and systems on business travel; AND
Developing and implementing localized Center-specific travel policies, rules and standard operating procedures; AND
Preparing travel orders and vouchers and other related documentation.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Time-in-Grade: To be eligible, current Federal employees must have served at least 52 weeks (one year) at the next lower grade level from the position/grade level(s) to which they are applying.
