This position is located in the Department of Education (ED), Office of Planning, Evaluation, and Policy Development (OPEPD), Office of the Chief Data Officer (OCDO), Governance and Strategy Division (GSD). OCDO is responsible for managing and improving the Department's ability to leverage data as a strategic asset.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualification RequirementsYou may meet the minimum qualifications for the GS-15, if you possess the specialize experience.Specialized Experience for the GS-15One year of experience in either federal or non-federal service that is equivalent to at least a GS-14 performing two (2) out of three (3) of the following duties or work assignments:
Experience leading/supervising a team responsible for the analysis and use of one or more of ED's recognized data assets or collections, such as EDFACTS, Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS), Civil Rights Data Collection (CRDC), G5 grant data, or the department's annual budget tables.
Experience leading the development of data management or data governance policies and practices.
Experience developing program standards and executing analytical approaches to ensure effective implementation of the Department’s Data Strategy.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
The quality of your experience will be measured by the extent to which you possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs). Ability to supervise and effectively engage staff.
Skill in advising senior staff on proposals and issues which involve exceptional controversy, intensive outside interest, or significant long-range effects on the program.
Knowledge of lifecycle data management and data governance principles and strategies.
Skill in developing tools, measurements, and standards supporting the effective implementation of the Department’s Data Strategy
Ability to represent the Department as an expert on data collection and data governance principles.
Education
Education cannot be substituted for experience for this position and grade level.
