About the Position: The incumbent will serve as Quality Assurance Specialist, in Ft. Eisenhower, GA. You will ensure that the role of the Government is not jeopardized in daily relations with contractors and that the Government's best interests are represented.
Duties
Advises on the development of contract requirements to ensure performance work statements, Performance Requirements Summaries, and Quality Assurance Surveillance Plans are commensurate with contract oversight and administration.
Identifies deficiencies by analyzing the Government, contractor, and customer quality data and requesting appropriate corrective action when deficiencies or trends are indicated.
Provides functional and technical interpretation and advice on regulations, contract management, and guidance on quality assurance issues and problems.
Assist in the development of Installation Contracting Office operating procedures in quality assurance.
Perform solicitation reviews to ensure appropriate quality control requirements are imposed and assist in the preparation of technical specifications for inclusion in procurement solicitation packages.
Provides Contracting Office personnel quality assurance training and instruction.
Provides Contracting Officer Representative (COR) MICC Enhanced COR Training.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. If the security clearance is denied or revoked, the individual may be denied or removed from the position, accordingly.
- This position requires occasional temporary duty (TDY) travel up to 25% of the time.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Driver’s License.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Experience with practical knowledge in monitoring, controlling, or maintaining the quality of products or services in quality assurance, procurement, inspection, production, or related areas. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
OR
Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as quality assurance, statistics, mathematics, production management, industrial management, computer science, engineering, engineering technology, physical sciences, textiles, or other fields related to the position.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
