About the Position: The incumbent will serve as Quality Assurance Specialist, in Ft. Eisenhower, GA. You will ensure that the role of the Government is not jeopardized in daily relations with contractors and that the Government's best interests are represented.

Duties

Analyze quality data to detect unsatisfactory trends or weaknesses in quality plans, policies and procedures for implementation across the organization. Implements prescribed internal controls to eliminate or minimize the potential for fraud. Researches and develops new methodology for application in the Quality Assurance training for processes and techniques. Serves as the Quality Assurance Evaluator for the Installation Contracting Office’s Quality Surveillance Program on a variety of contracts (service, training, indefinite delivery orders, instrumentation, etc.).

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. If the security clearance is denied or revoked, the individual may be denied or removed from the position, accordingly.
  • This position requires occasional temporary duty (TDY) travel up to 25% of the time.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Analyzing a Quality Surveillance Program in support of various acquisition functional areas; 2) Performing quality assurance audits of procedures and processes and identifying inadequacies to request corrective action to quality assurance problems; AND 3) Developing, scheduling, and conducting various quality assurances training. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as quality assurance, statistics, mathematics, production management, industrial management, computer science, engineering, engineering technology, physical sciences, textiles, or other fields related to the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18.
