Duties
The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum is a federally chartered, nonpartisan institution that was created by the US Congress to serve as America’s national memorial to the victims of the Holocaust and an educational institution dedicated to the history and lessons of the Holocaust. The Museum seeks to educate Americans from all 50 states and all walks of life as well as international audiences. Qualifications
Qualification requirements in the vacancy announcements are based on the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook, which contains federal qualification standards. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies; knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-12 (or equivalent) grade level in the Federal government or private sector, performing the following duties:
Providing supervisory oversight of the Audiovisual staff and contractors. Addressing issues and problems and providing solutions;
Working with stakeholders to develop and implement plans across the organization, providing training, as needed;
Managing the design, development, implementation, modification, and maintenance of the USHMM's Audio Visual systems;
Preparing budget requests for Audio Visual systems, hardware, software, and services; AND
Determining program priorities and developing plans for the unit’s work that are responsive to USHMM priorities and that are innovative, creative, and include potential cost efficiencies.
