(USTRANSCOM) operational missions..
Duties
As a CYBERSPACE STRATEGIC ANALYST at the GS-0301-13 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Conducts analysis in conjunction with other members of cyberspace operations identifying mission risk from cyberspace threats and vulnerabilities.
Executes current and explores new and innovative methods to identify/protect Defense Critical Infrastructure (DCI) Mission Relevant Terrain in Cyberspace (MRT-C) and Key Terrain in Cyberspace (KT-C) data to support risk management activities and counter advisory attempts to exploit and/or attack USTRANSCOM networks.
Represents the Command and J3 for cyber domain mission assurance and applicable mission assurance related programs and activities.
Serves as action officer for USTRANSCOM participation in OSD-led Mission Assurance Coordination Board activities to include Senior and Executive Steering Groups, Integrated Assessment Schedule (IAS) and Mission Assurance Assessments (MAA).

- This is a cybersecurity position. Employee must attain and maintain appropriate DoD approved cybersecurity baseline Certificate(s) applicable for cybersecurity functions required for the DoD position held, within six months of filling the position.

- Key Position: Duties of position meet all requirements as a category 4 designation, and shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization. This position must be removed from Ready Reserve and cannot be a member of the Ready Reserve.
- This is a designated USTRANSCOM Joint Deployment and Distribution Enterprise (JDDE) position.
- This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use.
- Must obtain and retain a Special Sensitive (TS/SCI) security clearance.
- Recall to duty may be a requirement of this position.
- This employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service:
Develops complex analytical approaches to cyberspace-related problems and situations supporting mission assurance.
Reviews technical analyses on cyberspace threats and threat actors.
Ensures operational risk assessment and management focuses on cyberspace threats and vulnerabilities to dependence on critical information and infrastructure.
Analyze potential threats and recommend solutions that provide security controls while enhancing the capabilities of networked systems.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
