About the Position: This position will serve as a Traffic Management Specialist for the 599th Transportation Brigade Terminals Management Division. This position will be filled as a term appointment.

Duties

Support day-to-day operations by developing and implementing plans to ensure mission readiness. Oversee the planning, coordinating, and execution of DoD cargo movements throughout the region. Provide technical advice, policy direction, and evaluation of transportation methods. Analyze complex problems related to cargo movements and make informed decisions regarding data adequacy and unique transportation needs.

Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
  • May be required to submit an annual financial report if appointed as a COR, Alternate COR or OO.
  • Must complete ICODES, GATES and Hazardous Materials training and certification within 12 months of assignment.
  • Required to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, upon entering the position and annually, in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R, Joint Ethics Regulation, dated 17-Nov-2011.
  • Position may require some TDY travel – approximately 25%.
  • This position is designated as emergency-essential (E-E). During a crisis situation, the incumbent, or designated alternate, may be required to deploy or to perform temporary duty assignments overseas in support of military operations.
  • Emergency Essential civilians are required to sign a DoD Form 2365.
  • As a pre-condition of employment, Incumbent must meet requirements specified on SF78, Certificate of Medical Examination, and receive immunizations appropriate for overseas location.
  • Physical examinations are also required annually to ensure employee meets physical requirements of an EE position.
  • Emergency Essential employees must be exempted from military mobilization or recall obligations by being placed in the Standby Reserve or other appropriate action. (See Dodd 1200.7, Dodd 1404.10, Dodd 1400.31, Dodd 1400.32; and AR 690-11.)
  • This is an obligated position. An obligated position is one to which an employee has statutory restoration rights or entitlement based on active military service, recovery from a compensable injury, or return rights based on an overseas tour.
  • This is a Term position scheduled to last three years. A term position may be extended to a maximum of six years depending upon the needs of management.
  • Term employment is subject to a one year trial period. Employees serving a trial period can be removed with limited appeal rights.
