Duties

Serves as a Troop Support Program Manager, within the Operations and Plans Directorate, for one or more of the nine Combatant Commands and/or one or more of the four executive agency supply/logistics programs. Develops, implements, and makes recommendations regarding strategic operational plans. Coordinates with personnel across multiple supply chains (Class I, II, IV, VIII and IX) in accomplishing various missions. Utilizes the Joint Planning Process to conduct operational planning for all numbered operations, concept, and base plans for assigned Combatant Command Program. Manages, coordinates, and directs the execution of strategic logistics planning and future operations planning efforts. Represents the directorate when conducting and participating in meetings, briefings or conferences regarding strategic, operational, and contingency planning programs.

Qualifications

To qualify for a Logistics Program Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-13 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Directing, coordinating, and analyzing operational supply/logistics plans and programs. Developing and tracking metrics to ensure plans are developed and met in a timely, effective, and efficient manner. Gathering, analyzing, evaluating, and assessing whether assumptions and conclusions are reasonable. Expressing your thoughts in a clear, concise, and well-organized manner, both in writing and orally, in the context of strategic supply plans/operations. Utilizing extensive knowledge of supply chains, missions, plans, functions, and programs to resolve discrepancies and coordinate recommendations. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
