You will serve as a Housing Management Assistant in the Family Housing PPV of NAVAL AIR STATION WHIDBEY ISLAND.

Duties

You will determine the adequacy of building services, furnishings, fixtures and schedule improvements. You will evaluate family housing program practices to recommend future program improvements. You will maintain automated database for statistical and historical information relating to family housing occupancy, utilization, and maintenance. You will discuss resident concerns to identify and resolve housing issues or problems. You will investigate housing facilities to resolve complex occupant concerns and complaints. You will create written documents to outline recommendations for modifications or alterations.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: (1) Provide information via telephone, email and in person on a variety of subjects relating to housing for military personell; 2) Ensure proper record keeping in the Housing Module of enterprise Military Housing (eMH); 3) Monitor the assignment of tenants to quarters to ensure government housing is utilized appropriately; 4) Prepare appropriate housing reports or documentation concerning occupancy, vacancy, placement or other related activities; and 5) Counsel customers regarding the availability, type, and size of housing available NOTE: This information must be supported in your resume to be considered for the position. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

1 full year of graduate level education

or

A bachelor's degree with superior academic achievement
