About the Position: This position is located in TRICARE Operations, Directorate of Administration, 66th Medical Group at MacDill Air Force Base, Hillsborough County, Florida.
Duties
Troubleshoot problems with health care plans/services to resolve issues between beneficiaries and providers.
Provide information to local civilian hospitals, clinics, individual providers, and others as trends or problems are noted in claims processing, eligibility criteria, and treatment authorized under the program.
Resolve problems encountered with the delivery and receipt of health care from military and civilian providers.
Explain issues to customers that affect rates, payments, entitlements, waivers, and reconsideration rights in relation to their benefits.
Provide enrollment assistance, beneficiary program counseling and assistance, and claim processing and clarify eligibility requirements and benefits.
Requirements
- Tuberculosis Test is required.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
- All Health Care Providers must be able to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) training and certification that is sponsored or endorsed by the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
- Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position
- This position may require the incumbent to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes includes providing information and/or guidance on healthcare costs, services, and benefits of Military Health Plan Programs (TRICARE, CHAMPUS, etc.). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
