About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the ST-IC-W00YAA US ARMY INTELLIGENCE AND SECURITY CMD, US Army Intelligence and Security Command, Mission Support Command, ACOF,S G-7.

Duties

Serve as a Supervisory Intelligence Specialist (Operations). Integrates and coordinates all aspects of INSCOM G-7 modernizations efforts across the Major Subordinate Commands (MSCs) and the INSCOM staff. Disseminate policies, procedures, regulations, and guidelines/guidance for all INSCOM intelligence modernization efforts. Assess the validity and effectiveness of lower-level products and evaluates the impact of major program changes and new intelligence information to area of expertise, recommending changes as needed to the INSCOM G-7 leadership. Exercise day-to-day supervision over the assigned personnel who perform duties in the branch.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Temporary Duty (TDY) Travel may be required 25% or less of the time.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance based on a T5 (or equivalent level) investigation with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
  • All INSCOM employees may be subject to extended TDY or worldwide deployments during crisis situations to perform mission essential functions as determined by management.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid driver's license.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-12). Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled. This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data.
