You will serve as a Supervisory Facility Operations Specialist in the Public Works Department (PWD) Facilities Management Division of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC.

Duties

You will perform the full range of administrative and technical supervisory duties including organization, training, planning, and operations of personnel within the Requirements Branch. You will review operations of an organization in terms of effectiveness, efficiency, and compliance with facility requirements to meet mission directives. You will determine the products and services needed to carry out facility management functions and ensure missions objectives are met. You will coordinate with organization and public works business lines to develop facility maintenance planning and execution strategies. You will evaluate possible approaches and solutions to unusual maintenance and repair problems using technical judgment, experience, and exploration of available resources. You will monitor status of work execution to ensure that facilities projects satisfy business requirements.

  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Supervising a diverse team of professional and technical personnel; 2) Providing leadership in the processing and routing of customer work requests for all products and services at the Public Works Department to include cost estimates, engineering services, and planning services; 3) Tracking and updating work status within NAVFAC management systems; 4) Performing facility inspections, monitoring facilities inventory, and creating facility sustainment plans using Infrastructure Condition Assessment Program (ICAP) and Condition Based Maintenance Management (CBMM).
