This position is located within a National Forest. The primary purpose of this position is to perform a variety of duties in support of the resource programs.
Duties
Use of common manual hand tools and equipment (e.g., hatchets, clippers, shovel, crowbar, screw drivers, hand saw, hand truck, dolly) and simple power equipment (e.g., lawnmowers, wet vacuums, steam cleaners, low-pressure sprayers, hand buffers).
Loading, unloading, and moving heavy, bulky objects, such as furniture and equipment, by hand, hand truck, or dolly; collecting and emptying garbage cans.
Opening crates and boxes using crowbars and cutting packing strips with shears. Packs items in boxes or bags for shipment.
Digging ditches where grading and sloping is not required; filling holes with dirt; leveling bumps and low places using shovel, hand tamper, and rake.
Watering grounds, laying sod, mowing grass with walking-type power lawnmower; trim small trees and bushes using handsaw or shears.
Shoveling snow.
Washing and waxing vehicles using hand buffer.
Performing simple maintenance, assembly, and repairs on furniture and equipment.
Requirements
- You must be a US Citizen or US National.
- Males born after 12/31/1959 must be Selective Service registered or exempt.
- Subject to satisfactory adjudication of background investigation and/or fingerprint check.
