This position is located within a National Forest. The primary purpose of this position is to perform a variety of duties in support of the resource programs.

Duties

Incumbent performs a variety of duties in different work settings, involving moderately heavy physical effort and the use of common manual hand tools and equipment. Utilizes hatchets, clippers, shovel, crowbar, screw drivers, hand saw, hand truck, dolly, and simple power equipment (e.g., lawnmowers, wet vacuums, steam cleaners, low-pressure sprayers, hand buffers) to perform tasks. Loads, unloads, and moves heavy, bulky objects, such as furniture and equipment, by hand, hand truck, or dolly. Collects and empties garbage cans. Opens crates and boxes using crowbars and cutting packing strips with shears. Packs items in boxes or bags for shipment. Digs ditches where grading and sloping is not required, fills holes with dirt, and levels bumps and low places using shovel, hand tamper, and rake. Waters grounds, laying sod, mowing grass with walking-type power lawnmower, and trims small trees and bushes using handsaw or shears. Shovels snow. Washes and waxes vehicles using hand buffer. Performs simple maintenance, assembly, and repairs on furniture and equipment.
