This position is located in the Administrative Division of the Morale, Welfare and Recreation Department located on Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Bas New Orleans and is open to current Non-Appropriated Funds employees aboard NAS JRB NEW ORLEANS and those with Military Spousal Preference within local commuting distance.

Requirements

  • Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successful completion of background investigation. Background investigations are conducted using fingerprint identification and completion of background inquiry forms.
  • Must successfully pass the E-verify employment verification check. Any discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of employment.
  • You must go through a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process that requires two forms of identification from the Form I-9.
  • Must provide proof of U.S. Citizenship or U.S. National.
  • A valid State driver's license is required to operate motor vehicles.
  • Must have your salary sent to a financial institution of your choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer.
  • Must currently reside in 50 miles of 70037 Belle Chasse at time of applying.
  • Current NAF Employee aboard NAS JRB NEW ORLEANS or those claiming spousal preference

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered. Government positions must include pay plan, series, grade, to and from dates and address of the agency/organization. One year of specialized experience directly related to the duties described above. Qualifying experience must have been equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Must be able to read, write and understand both written and verbal instructions. Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide accurately using a calculator. Must have knowledge of basic English grammar, spelling and punctuation. This position requires the skill of an entry level or higher typist and the ability to operate a personal computer. Must possess working knowledge of basic data entry for MS Office Word and Excel programs. Must demonstrate above average telephone etiquette and customer service skills. Familiarity with MWR policies, practices, procedures and terminology and previous government experience is preferred. Must be familiar with document filing and retrieval systems, and have the ability to accurately maintain filing systems. Incumbent must be able to obtain a secret security clearance. Must be able to hold a Government Credit Card. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
