You will serve as a MATERIALS EXPEDITER within the Transportation Branch, Public Works Department (PWD) of NAVAL FACILITIES ENG COMMAND HAWAII.
Duties
You will route and expedite the movement of materials and equipment to meet schedules, deadlines and priorities by tracking critical, urgently needed requirements.
You will receive, inspect, and accept material and supplies to verify shipments and deliveries are complete and accurate, and material is in good condition.
You will coordinate with the designated Buyer to determine the requestor and issues the material to the requestor or returns the material to the vendor.
You will operate material handling equipment (MHE) up to and including 10,000-pound capacity to move material and reposition assets.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Incumbent will be required to wear safety shoes and eyewear. Additional personal protective equipment (PPE) includes, but not are not limited to, hard hats,
gloves, masks, and hearing protection.
- The incumbent must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license to travel to sites within and outside of the local commuting areas, to pick up, transport and deliver materials.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- A current Forklift Operator License (certification) based on the particular lift trucks that operators use in the workplace is required.
- The employee may be required to work overtime.
- Incumbent may be required to participate in mobility exercises and contingency operations.
Qualifications
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION. 1) Ability to coordinate the movement of materials from vendor to customer and monitor status; 2) Ability to verify the completion, accuracy and condition of material shipments and deliveries; 3) Ability to conduct research, such as using parts manuals and catalogs to make positive identification of materials; 4) Ability to assemble materials into kits, packages, lots or units according to shop requirements; 5) Ability to complete documentation, such as documenting incorrect quantity/damaged/incorrect material on a Supply Discrepancy Report and documenting turning in materials from completed work orders; and 6) Ability to manage and assist the accuracy of inventory.
