About the Position: This position is a Motor Vehicle Dispatcher (Office Automation) GS-2151-8 with the U.S. Army Sustainment Command, 407th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistics Readiness Center, in Dona Ana, New Mexico.
Duties
Schedule and dispatch vehicles to accommodate requests for transportation services submitted by customers.
Maintain vehicle accountability, receive new requests, and process documentation required for dispatching to new activities.
Maintain vehicle utilization records using daily dispatch documents or automated spread sheets.
Utilize automated systems to prepare statistical and other reports following appropriate guidance/regulations.
Facilitate and coordinate training.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid Government Driver's License.
- This position requires the incumbent to complete and graduate Master Driver Course instructed by the U.S Army Transportation School and Training Doctrine Command (TRADOC) or certified mobile training teams within the first year of employment.
- This position requires a qualified typist (at least 40 wpm with 3 or fewer errors) is required.
- This position has a requirement to lift up to 20 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
- This position is covered by the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program and requires the incumbent to pass urinalysis periodically throughout the employment periodically thereafter.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) scheduling vehicles for maintenance, 2) inspecting and inventory control of all assigned non-tactical vehicles, 3) dispatching vehicles using automated systems within regulations and policies, and 4) Documenting vehicle utilization upon receipt. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
