You will serve as a Transportation Assistant in the Household Goods (HHG) program office of NAVSUP FLC PEARL HARBOR.
Duties
You will provide customer service to Household Goods (HHG) customers, industry, other Personal Property (PPO), and various headquarters elements.
You will be responsible for the coordination on all aspects of shipping/storage of personal property and privately owned vehicles (POVs).
You will provide customer counseling and application assistance in person or remotely, provides support via technical support center, fields call, emails, social media, and other correspondence; prioritizes workflow task queues for action.
You will be required to service in the contractual capacity as a Government Surveillance Representative or Quality Assurance Evaluator in support of the HHG program.
You will expedite storage or movement by identifying/correcting omissions and unique conditions by selecting various modes of specialized carrier equipment for campers, house trailers, mobile homes, tiny houses, boats, ATVs, motorcycles, etc.
You will arbitrate/sanction extensions, storage, delivery requests, contractor accessorial services, utilizing judgement to establish precedent for vaguely categorized transportation governance and resolve complex movement issues.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This is a bargaining unit position.
Qualifications
You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-06) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent Transportation Assistant experience in the private or public sector performing transportation support duties that include making arrangements for the movement and storage of personal property and household goods, as well as privately owned vehicles. Specialized experience must also demonstrate knowledge of an extensive body of transportation rules, procedures, and operations governing entitlements and documentation requirements for domestic and foreign shipments and to resolve a wide range of problems pertaining to personal property and household goods function. Specific examples of specialized experience may include the following: 1) Computing shipment costs, identifying inaccurate charges, investigating overages, shortages, damages, or any discrepancy to incident to the shipment of personal property and household goods; 2) Arranging shipments, rates, services, distribution, storage, packaging, pickup, renewals, deliveries etc., and initiating ordering services; 3) Utilizing automated transportation management systems to reconcile errors that require an understanding of nonstandard transportation procedures; 4) Determining and providing counselling on entitlements of shipping/storage of personal property for all branches of the armed forces according to rank and type orders; and 5) Conduct virtual and on-site household good inspections to verify Transportation Service Providers (TSP) compliance with DOD regulations and Quality Assurance Surveillance Plans.

Education
