Duties
As a Information Technology Specialist (Customer Support/Internet) you will:
Oversee or perform a variety of activities to design, develop, test, implement and/or manage Internet, intranet, and other SharePoint web-based systems and applications.
Evaluate the technical design/structure of Internet services and new technologies; provide recommendations regarding the use, implementation, and modification of web-based systems, applications, and technologies; monitor the service usage, functionality, security, and integrity of web-based systems; troubleshoot and resolve technical problems; and ensure the rigorous application of information security/information assurance policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of Internet services.
Provide oversight of general Information System Office's services to Office of Noncommunicable Diseases, Injury and Environmental Health (ONDIEH) and National Center customers responding to requests for assistance, ranging from such things as business process analyses for systems development to conducting customer satisfaction evaluations.
Serve as ONDIEH and National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (NCCDPHP) liaison with Information Technology Solutions Office (ITSO) SharePoint staff to ensure that hardware and software issues are appropriately addressed and coordinates special customer needs.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify at the GS-13 grade level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level, which must include the following experience: providing informatics and Information Technology (IT) services; providing technical guidance in customer support and application functionality and managing IT systems support; performing IT activities to optimize agency technology platforms (e.g., SharePoint web-based systems and applications) and improving customer satisfaction AND have experience demonstrating each of the four competencies:
Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
