About the Position: Serves as Property Book Specialist responsible for property book and a unit specific durableproperty listing to account for property issued to subordinate organizations and contractors.

Duties

Assists the Property Book Officer (PBO) in property accountability ensuring property is accounted for and custody, safekeeping, and disposition is documented. Prepares inventory lists, assists Hand Receipt Holders as required in completing their inventories, and adjusts property records as required to ensure accuracy. Ensures conformity of property management to applicable Army Regulations, Federal Property Management Regulations, Supply Updates, Department of the Army Pamphlets and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Provides advice, assistance, and instruction on property accountability operations. Trains personnel in preparing reports, correspondence, etc., related to property management. Performs spot check inspections to assure the contractor is performing quality assurance functions and properly recording accomplishment of work in accordance with the Performance Work Statement (PWS) requirements.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
  • This position may require temporary duty (TDY) for business for up to 5% of the time.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Driver’s License.
  • Must complete a satisfactory pre-employment physical examination and annual re-examination thereafter.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
