About the Position: Serve as an action officer and subject matter expert in interacting with personnel throughout DACID, the Army, and DOD on matters pertaining to current and future goals and major education initiatives pertaining to accreditation standards, located in Glynco, GA.

Duties

Work independently under the broad guidance and direction of the Chief. Responsible for planning and carrying out assignments, from inception to conclusion. Consult with the supervisor to develop deadlines, projects, and work to be done through periodic staff meetings, personal conferences, and electronic communications. Resolves conflicts and coordinates work with others as necessary. Establish new contacts within and outside the agency to obtain needed information. Responsible for planning and attending required training and plans for professional development. Inform supervisor of any delays, impacts, or potentially controversial issues and recommends solutions. Update progress reports on a weekly basis or as required.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • In accordance with Change 3 of AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, must successfully pass a urinalysis for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Temporary Duty (TDY) Travel may be required 25% or less of the time.

Basic Requirement: Degree: that included or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours appropriate to the work of the position to be filled. The course work must have included study in at least four of the following five areas: Learning theory, psychology of learning, educational psychology: Study of learning theories as they relate to the systematic design, development, and validation of instructional material. Instructional design practices: Study of the principles and techniques used in designing training programs, developing design strategy and models, and applying design methods to the improvement of instructional effectiveness. Educational evaluation: Study of the techniques for evaluating the effectiveness of instructional/educational programs, including developing written and performance tests and survey instruments, and determining reliability and validity of evaluation instruments. Instructional product development: Study of the techniques appropriate for developing training materials, including identifying learner characteristics, specifying objectives, applying training strategy, validating training materials, and evaluating training. Computers in education and training: Study of the application of computers in education and training, including selecting appropriate computer software. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: overseeing the development of program specific curriculum; training instructors on internal and external curriculum-design products; and validating course resource requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Instructional and Performance Support TechnologyInstructional Program AdministrationTechnical Credibility Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12). Applicants must meet all eligibility requirements and minimum qualification requirements prescribed by OPM within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
